Have you always wanted to learn an instrument, but maybe it looked too hard? There is a place for everyone in the Orchestra, and the best part is you will learn everything in small steps - no prior musical experience required! Instruments available for Beginner Orchestra students include Violin, Viola, Cello, and Double Bass. Each beginner class is grouped by instrument so that each student receives individual and small group instruction. Sixth graders will learn how to read music along with the basic skills involved in playing a string instrument. Students will have the opportunity to participate in Orchestra Camp, four annual concerts, LISD Solo & Ensemble Contest, and NRH20 Music Festival. Each student interested in joining Orchestra must meet with Mr. Bunte for instrument selection prior to being enrolled.
Take your playing to the next level! This orchestra is made up of students who have completed Beginner Orchestra or who have at least one year of playing experience. Activities throughout the year include the opportunity to participate in Orchestra Camp, four annual concerts, and several extracurricular performances such as All-District & All-Region, UIL, LISD Solo & Ensemble Contest, and Spring Festival at Six Flags. Concert Orchestra students are also eligible to participate in Rockestra.

All students must be concurrently enrolled in Concert Orchestra or Philharmonic Orchestra. Students will also use electric instruments and learn composition, improvisation, music technology, advanced techniques, and will perform at our annual concerts throughout the year.
